How to get an invitation for a business visa to Russia.

In most of the cases a foreign citizen needs a business invitation from the Russian party to obtain a business visa to Russia. The first step is to determine the required length of stay and the number of entries into Russia.

Type of visa and type of invitation.

A business visa is issued for a period from one month to five years and, depending on the number of entries, can be single, double or multiple.

A business invitation to Russia can be issued in the following ways:

- In the form of an original invitation (paper form) or an electronic invitation (the so- called “telex”). Both of them are issued by the Migration Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs at the request of accredited Russian companies.

- Letter of invitation from a Russian company. It can be used only for citizens of countries that have signed the Agreement on Simplified Visa Regime: European Union (except for Great Britain and Ireland), USA, Japan.
